Accounts and stored submissions
HBCU.ai does not offer user accounts, logins, or profiles, and does not intentionally store website form submissions in a database. That does not mean no data about your visit is ever processed — the sections below explain what is.
Hosting, security, and server logs
Our hosting and security providers automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site: IP address, browser type and version, request time and path, device information, security events, and standard server logs. Cloudflare may set a necessary security cookie to distinguish legitimate traffic from automated abuse.
Analytics
The site may load a first-party analytics script at /~flock.js reporting to /~api/analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. Analytics are not used for advertising, cross-site profiling, or selling personal information, and personal information you type into a form is never placed into an analytics event.
How forms work
The newsletter, contact, correction, and partnership interfaces compose a pre-filled message and hand it to your own email application. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it, and nothing is stored on this site. If you send it, we receive your email like any other email and use it only to reply and, where you asked for it, to send HBCU AI updates. Emails to HBCUAI@proton.me are retained as ordinary email so they can be answered.
Tracking and advertising
We run no third-party advertising trackers, no ad networks, and no cross-site profiling. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Local browser storage
Some pages remember small preferences in your own browser (for example a cached copy of the public funding feed so pages load quickly). That data stays on your device.
External links
Pages link out to universities, federal agencies, funders, and publishers. Those sites are governed by their own privacy practices. Outbound links open in a new tab with rel="noopener noreferrer".
Children
HBCU.ai is intended for prospective and current college students, families, educators, and institutional leaders. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
